How do I book my vacation rental?

You can book online with confidence using our secure reservations system knowing that the credit card entered on our payment form is safely processed using Stripe. 50% of the total rental amount is due at the time of booking, and if this is your first reservation with us we ask for a copy of your driver’s license for identification.


How old do I have to be to rent a property?

For insurance purposes, you must be 25 years of age.


What about taxes?

Vacation property rentals are subject to the state of Vermont rooms and meals tax of 9% and the Stowe local tax of 1%. 


Do you have a minimum stay?

All of our properties require a minimum two-night minimum stay with a three-night minimum for both Columbus Day weekend and Martin Luther King weekend. Most of our properties ask for a five-night minimum stay during Presidents week and the Christmas holiday.


Do you have properties available for longer stays?

We do! Winter seasonal rentals are offered for stays between December 1 – March 31st or January 1 – March 31st. We can also accommodate guests on a monthly basis in the summer as well. Utilities are billed in addition to the rental rate however state and local taxes are not required for stays over 30 days. A refundable security deposit amount will be determined by management.


What is your cancellation policy?

All dates with the exception of Holiday and 30 Days +: A full refund will be given for a cancellation made more than 14 days prior to arrival. 50% of the initial payment be returned for cancellation made between 8 and 14 days with no refund given 7 days or less before check-in.

Holiday Cancellation Policy: 30-day notice for a full refund. 50% of the initial payment will be returned for cancellation made less than 30 days and more than 14 days prior to arrival. No refunds will be given 14 days or less before check-in.

Thirty Days + Cancellation Policy: 60-day notice for a full refund of deposit. No refund will be given for a cancellation made less than 60 days prior to arrival.

The refund amount will be the Guest’s deposit less a $50 administration fee and any credit card fees incurred by Stowe Properties to process payments. Late arrival, early departure, or any inclement weather or other unanticipated circumstances shall not result in any refund of rent or deposit.


Do you allow pets?

Adult dogs are permitted with prior approval at properties identified as “pets considered” for an additional $25 per stay. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet-friendly property during your visit you will be charged an additional $200.


What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. If you need a late check-out or early check-in, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate you if availability permits.


How do I access the property once I arrive?

All of our rentals are equipped with a keypad lock access which uses an assigned code specific to your stay for added security. You will receive an email prior to your arrival date with the code as well as driving directions to the property.
 


Where can buy my groceries?

Mac’s Market – Nice deli counter and great small market located right in Stowe Village.

Shaw’s Supermarket – A smaller version of the Waterbury store with a nice meat, deli, and seafood counter located on the perimeter of Stowe Village.

Shaw’s Supermarket – Right off from Interstate I89 exit heading toward Stowe, a larger store and good place to pick up supplies before you arrive. Located about 9 miles from away from Stowe Village. 820 Waterbury Stowe Road, Waterbury, VT                                              
 


What supplies can I expect?

Fully-stocked kitchen with microwave, coffeemaker, pots, pans, plates, glassware, silverware etc.

Paper towels, trash bags, coffee filters, dish detergent, dishwasher tablets, hand soap, shampoo, body wash, and toilet paper. Laundry detergent is provided at properties with a washer/dryer.

Bath towels, dish towels, bed linens, and a hairdryer are provided at every property.


Will there be firewood at homes with fireplaces or wood stoves? 

Properties with a fireplace or wood stoves do supply firewood for their guests. If you are not proficient at starting a fire you might want to bring a small “Duraflame” type log or “Fire Starters”. Small bundles of wood can also be purchased at the local hardware store.  


Where can I park my car?

All of our private homes offer parking for more than one car in the driveway and some also include a garage if included on the listing description. All of our village condos offer free parking for one car, please communicate with us directly about accommodating additional vehicles. 


Is WIFI included with my rental reservation?

Free wifi service is available at every rental. Please note that each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider and that Stowe Properties is not able to guarantee internet connectivity or speed.


What about TV’s?

Each property varies regarding what channels are offered depending on whether they use a satellite dish network or a streaming service. If you have a particular request please contact us for more information about each individual property.

We guarantee one TV in the great room or main living area of the home, however, we do not guarantee TV’s in the bedrooms. 


What if I leave an item behind?

If we are able to recover the item(s) left at the property we will ship the item(s) to the guest at the guest’s expense. Unclaimed items will be donated to charities after ten days.


May I smoke inside the property?

No, all of our properties are smoke-free. Please note that any guest failing to comply will be charged an additional $250 cleaning fee.


What about safety features?

Glad you asked! All of our properties meet the State of Vermont Division of Fire Safety Code with installed carbon monoxide, smoke detectors, and egress windows. First aid kits and smoke detectors are located in each kitchen. All welcome books include the address of the property with emergency numbers clearly identified.
